HISTORY:
Before the Civil War (1861-1865), William Bryant

the SW/4 of the NW/4 of Section 5, T7S-R7W. In October 1851, this
tract had been patented to Mr. Entrekin, the assignee of Thomas H.
Hudson, by the United States of America on Choctaw Certificate No.
490. A cemetery was also established in conjunction with the
Church. Circa 1887, the Church ceased to exist.(JXCO, Ms. Chancery
Court Cause No. 5282-Decemebr 1930 and JXCO, Ms. Land Deed Bk. 60,
pp. 148-149)
In June 1926, George W. Entrekin (1863-1934), the son of
William Bryant Entrekin, granted a quitclaim deed to J. David Quave
(1881-1955) on the SW/4 of the NW/4 of Section 5, T7S-R7W. In this
warranty deed George W. Entrekin related that the cemetery situated
on these lands was no longer used for internments. He further
stated that “the fence around the graveyard needs repair, and
whereas I have two sisters and other friends and relatives buried on
said land, and father and mother both being dead, and having died
without will, and I being heir in law of William Entrekin, and the
land foresaid having never been used for any other purpose…for and
in consideration of the sum of Five Dollars, and other
considerations….sell, convey, and Quit Claim to David Quave that
certain tract of land described as SW/4 of the NW/4 of Section 5, Tp.
7 S. R. 7 West in Jackson County, Miss”.(JXCO, Ms. Land Deed
Bk. 60, pp. 148-149)
